For Her Salon is a muslimah- compliant, ladies-only salon.
Operating since 2016, For Her started off with just professional hair service and at the end of 2019, started to expand to nails service. We offer all of your hair and nails pampering needs including professional haircut, styling, hair colouring, manicure, pedicure, and nail spa. Our best-selling service is the scalp treatment.
We only use halal and water-permeable products and we are open to all women including non-muslims. We offer event space, and we host knowledge-sharing sessions every month particularly focusing on overall women’s well-being and empowerment.

With a family background in construction, Liyana aspired to be an architect as she has a flair for arts and aesthetics. She was studying to do architecture when she decided that rather than making beautiful houses, she would make people beautiful, instead.
She trained as a hairdresser up to Level 4 Diploma in Advanced Hairdressing from City & Guilds. She was the first in Malaysia to achieve distinction. Liyana’s Professional Experience include Hairkunst, The Curve Damansara; Miko Hair Studio, Pavilion KL; and Grace Salon, Bangsar before starting For Her Salon in 2015.
A Professional Hair Stylist with at least 10 years of experience, Liyana specializes in hair colouring. She will not let you leave the salon unless she is happy with the results.
“A 20-year-old from Petaling Jaya wanted a pampering session with her girlfriends. She had to go all the way to Shah Alam, because circa 2006, you could hardly find a legit muslimah salon. Why Shah Alam?
Because one of her girlfriends said the hair salon has a muslimah section. And that muslimah section was just separated by a flimsy curtain. Then and there, the young lady said to her friends - One day, I would have my own muslimah salon, inshaAllah.”
They say, ‘Kata-kata itu Doa’. Ten years forward, upon her return from Melbourne in 2016, Nadirah met Liyana and their relationship evolved beyond as hairdresser-client. An audiologist-trained-PhD-student, Nadirah has the passion to organize events and simply make people happy.
